Durban factory
Dunlop truck tyres are manufactured at the Apollo Tyres’ plant in Durban, South Africa, the busiest port on the African continent, a transportation hub that allows us to ship our first-rate tyres to their destinations quickly and efficiently.
The imposing 80 000m2 Durban plant employs 840 workers and annually manufactures around 25 000 tonnes of tyres, all developed to precision standards. Of the factory’s extensive output, 60% of product is high quality truck steel, while the remaining 40% is earthmover, tractor and light truck product.
Like Appollo Tyres’ Ladysmith passenger tyre plant, the Durban factory is ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001 compliant, and committed to reducing wastage.
Ladysmith factory
Situated in Ladysmith, Apollo Tyres’ passenger tyre plant is conveniently positioned between the South African business hub of Johannesburg and Durban, Africa’s busiest port.
The 77 000m2 state-of-the-art plant, with its staff of 1 160, has high production capabilities, annually manufacturing around 25 000 tonnes of premium Dunlop branded and light truck tyres on meticulously maintained machinery. 50% of the factory’s high performance, steel radial product is exported internationally.
Committed to fighting the war on waste, the Ladysmith passenger tyre factory is continually striving to improve efficiencies. Like the Durban truck tyre plant, it is ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001 compliant.
